Jelinek Fellowship

The Frederick Jelinek Fellowship Fund in the G. W. C. Whiting School of Engineering

This endowed Fellowship was established in the memory of Professor Frederick Jelinek, director of the Center for Language and Speech Processing and the Julian Sinclair Smith Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, to honor his pioneering research in human language technology.  One or more graduate students will be chosen each year to receive this fellowship, based on their academic achievements and their potential to make new advances in the science and technology of language and speech processing by humans and machines.  The fellowship is intended to support and enhance the educational and research endeavors of the recipient(s).
