  About Me:

I am a fourth year PhD student in ECE department at The Johns Hopkins University working with Professor Mounya Elhilali

  Research Interests:

I am interested in auditory motivated features, machine learning, and in combining the two to address noise robustness (for machines to be able to perform automatic speech processing tasks in a variety of practical scenarios).

Work Experience:  (link to CV )

Before joining Hopkins, I worked for ~ three years in Hewlett-Packard Labs, India. I worked on Text-to-Speech synthesis and Hand Writing Recognition (see LipiTK). I was recognized for outstanding contribution to the HP Labs achievements for the year 2004.

And prior to that I spent three years doing my masters (by Research) in Computer Science & Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. For my masters thesis, I worked on multi-lingual Text-to-Speech synthesis for Indian languages. During my masters, I also lead a team working on Multi-modal interfaces (Speech + HandWriting + Keyboard) and multi-lingual support for Linux.

  Other Interests:

I enjoy running, tennis, racquetball, badminton, cricket, ping-pong, squash or any other sport

I love reading (here is my favourites list )

I follow equity markets (and to a small extent commodities) closely

Pranayama, let me know if you want to learn or know more about it
