Abstract:
This research system for concatenative synthesis is based on a paper which, according to its author David Talkin, contained enough detail so that the reader could reimplement the pitch tracker. David thinks that I am the only person ever to have tested that claim, which proved almost correct. You will be introduced to aspects of speech that those in the recognition business tend to ignore -- waveforms, correlations, and the glottal waveform.
