About Me:

Hi This is V Balakrishnan. I am currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University. I work in the CLSP(Center for Speech and language Processing) laboratory. My advisor is Dr.Sanjeev Khudanpur I did my Undergraduate from IIT Madras from the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Research Interests:
My research interests include Automatic Speech Recognition, Speech Processing and Machine Learning. I currently work in collaboration with cirl where we apply our speech recognition and machine learning algorithms to analyze dextrous motions.
Other Interests:
Apart from research, I do recreational mathematics and programming puzzles. I have won several online programming and puzzle competitions. I am consistent solver of problems in projecteuler which is my alltime favorite puzzle solving site. I am usually ranked in the top 10 always. I have solved all of the 261 problems so far. I am currently trying to become a red coder in topcoder and eventually a target. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can go about achieving this, please email me at balakris_v(at)yahoo.com.
