Admissions
Graduate students interested in language and speech processing who want to conduct research at CLSP, must first be admitted to a graduate program in one of the various departments that have CLSP faculty. Students must meet the requirements for admission and degree completion in their home department. CLSP coordinates the offering of a full curriculum of courses in the language and speech areas.
Applications can be made through any of the departments that have CLSP faculty:
Biomedical Engineering
E-mail: clsp@clsp.jhu.edu
The Whiting School of Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University invites applications from outstanding students seeking
research experience at the Ph.D. level who are interested in exploring areas within the context of the six science and
engineering departments (see list above for home departments) affiliated with CLSP. These fellowships provide a monthly stipend and complete tuition remission for the first year of
graduate study towards a doctoral degree. For the remainder of their doctoral program, recipients may apply for either a
renewal of support through the fellowship or a graduate assistantship from their research supervisors or home department.
CLSP invites applications from all candidates including those with degrees in mathematics, physics, linguistics and other
analytical sciences.
Fellowship recipients, in addition to performing graduate research in language or speech
processing, must satisfy the academic requirements of their home department.
