KITT.AI, a Seattle-based artificial intelligence startup, has received funding from Amazon’s Alexa Fund and Founders’ Co-op. Two CLSP affiliates–Xuchen Yao, PhD ’14 in computer science, and Guoguo Chen, PhD ’16 in electrical and computer engineering–are co-founders of the company. The funding will aid KITT.AI in developing and launching a platform that will enable developers to build apps, devices, and services that communicate with users through conversational, natural language.

The startup has already developed a prototype called Semantic Lighting, which will let people interact with smartlights by talking with them.
